Williams was a starter at offensive guard as a senior on MSSC’s 1976 CSIC championship squad and was named an All-American by both the NAIA (first team) and the Associated Press (second team) after earning honorable mention NAIA All-American honors his junior year. He was also named to the first team of the inaugural CSIC all-league squad as well as an honorary team captain, and was a two-time first-team all-district selection.
