Derrick was a four year letter winner as a kicker in football. He led the team in kick scoring all four seasons and was the Lions’ overall scoring leader in 1975 to earn team MVP honors. He was first team All-CSIC and All-District in 1976 and ended his career in 1977 as MSSC’s all-time leading scorer at the time with 188 points.
