MSSU Athletics Hall of Fame
Wendell Redden was the longtime sports editor for the Joplin Globe. He started at the Globe in 1950 and worked there until his retirement in 1996. Redden helped publicize Southern athletics and bled Green and Gold his entire life. In 1996, he went on to work in the sports information department at Southern helping produce several award-winning press guides, as well as serving as the public address announcer at Joe Becker Stadium for Southern Baseball. Redden is also a member of the Joplin Bowling Hall of Fame, the MSSU Regional Media Hall of Fame and the Missouri Press Association Hall of Fame. Redden passed away in 2011.
