Russell Bland played for the Lions Basketball team from 1976-78. He is the second-highest scoring two-year player ever for Missouri Southern with 1,271 career points. At the time of his induction, he ranked fifth all-time in career rebounds at MSSU with 654, while holding the Lions' single-game rebound mark with 27 at Southwest Baptist in 1976. He was a first team All-American in 1978.
