Anita Rank-Oplotnik, now a resident of Springfield, Mo., is one of the most decorated women's basketball players in Missouri Southern history. From 1984-88 she scored a Lady Lions' career record 1,842 points from her forward position. Rank-Oplotnik also set the then school single-game record for scoring with 42 points vs. the University of Arkansas-Pine Bluff and holds single-game and career records for free throws made and attempted (she hit 17-of-21 vs. Pittsburg State on February 18, 1987, and was 476-of-600 for her career).

A four-year letter winner, she was also second in school history in career field goal percentage (.564), rebounds (967), and blocked shots (82). Rank-Oplotnik was a first-team All-Central States Intercollegiate Conference pick in 1986-87 and 1987-88. She was also third-team All-American in 1986-87 and honorable mention All American in 1987-88, and was an Academic All-American both seasons.
