Hodges-Garr was a four-year volleyball starter from 1984-87. She played on MSSU squads, directed by Pat Lipira, that posted a combined 167-51 (.766) record. Hodges-Garr played on three teams that posted 40-win seasons, including squads that held school records for most wins (47) and best winning percentage (.875).

A two-time honorable mention NAIA All-American, Hodges-Garr held Missouri Southern records for career matches (168) and games played (544) and she shared the seasonal matches played record (58) at the time of her induction. Her best season was her junior year, when she tallied a career-high 537 kills (3.95 per game) and hit .301 as the Lions went 47-10. Hodges-Garr’s 1734 kills ranked third on the MSSU career list.

A three-time All-Central States Intercollegiate Conference pick, Hodges-Garr was a three-time All-District 16 performer. She earned first-team all-conference honors in 1986 and 1987 and was a first-team all-region honoree in 1987.

The 1988 Lionbacker Award of Excellence winner, Hodges-Garr graduated from Southern in the fall of 1988 with a physical education degree. The Stover, Mo. native currently works as a teacher and coach with the Morgan County R-2 School District in Versailles, Mo.
