Quite possibly the best point guard to ever wear the green and gold, Eddin Santiago was the best floor general in the MIAA and one of the best in all of Division II in his four years at Southern. He was a four-year starter at Southern and finished his career as the all-time leader in assists (804), and steals (383), while ranking second all-time in games played. His assists and steals marks ranked tops all-time in the MIAA, while his steals record was the second-most ever in all of Division II at the time of his induction.

Santiago also helped lead the charge for the best-team ever in Southern history. His 1999-2000 Lions finished the season 30-3 and made a trip to the Division II Elite Eight, falling in the national semi-finals by one point to eventual national champion Metro State. He scored 1,108 career points, ranking him 12th all-time in Southern history, while leading the Lions to an 82-37 record in his four years.

During his time at MSSU, Santiago was a three-time, first-team All-MIAA selection, while being named three times to the All-Region team. He was an All-American selection twice and was named the MVP of the 2000 NCAA Division II Central Region Tournament. Santiago graduated from Missouri Southern in 2002 with a degree in criminal justice administration.

He is a professional basketball player in the Superior Basketball League in Puerto Rico where he helped his team to the 2007 Championship.
