Biography

Prior to Southern
Neely joins Missouri Southern after a standout career at Sumner Academy of Arts & Science in Kansas City, Kan. A three-year football letterwinner, he starred at both wide receiver and safety, earning First Team All-Meadowlark Conference honors as a senior after receiving honorable mention recognition as a junior. Neely was also named 4A All-State Honorable Mention at wide receiver and finished his prep career with 74 receptions for 866 yards and 11 touchdowns, while adding 31 tackles, five interceptions and two defensive touchdowns. A multi-sport athlete, he also competed in basketball and track and field, qualifying for the Kansas state meet as a member of the 4x400-meter relay team.

Mekhi, the son of Essence Neely, is pursuing a degree in Criminal Justice at Southern.
