Biography

Prior to Southern
Evan Sanders is a fullback from Johnston City, Illinois, attending Johnston City High School. Throughout his high school career, he earned four varsity letters in football (2021-2024) and three varsity letters basketball. In 2024, he was named All-State, Conference Defensive Captain, and earned All-South recognition. Additionally, he was a two-time First-Team All-Conference honoree in both 2023 and 2024. Outside of football, Sanders competed in track and field and basketball. He set the school record in shot put and earned multiple All-State and All-South honors in track, along with conference and sectional championships.

Evan, the son of Casey Buckman and LaThavis Miller, plans to pursue a degree in Education at Southern.
