Prior to Southern:
Dakari Wake is a linebacker and safety from Leavenworth, Kansas, attending Leavenworth High School. Throughout his high school career, he earned three varsity letters in football, playing in 27 games and recording 182 career tackles. Wake showcased his versatility by playing seven different positions, including free safety, strong safety, outside linebacker, middle linebacker, tight end, wide receiver, and running back. In 2024, he was named All-UKC Second Team linebacker. Academically, he was recognized on the Honor Roll four times (2021-2024). Dakari also competed in basketball during his freshman and junior years, earning a varsity letter in his junior year.
 
Personal:
Dakari, the son of Cathleen Legare and Michael Wake, plans to pursue a degree in Accounting/Finance at Southern.
