Prior to Southern:
John Brandenburg is an offensive lineman from Bella Vista, Arkansas, attending Bentonville High School. Over the course of his high school career, he earned varsity letters in football as a sophomore, junior, and senior. Brandenburg started in 34 games, contributing to two conference championships and three state runner-up finishes. He was named All-State in his senior year and earned Offensive Newcomer of the Year honors as a sophomore. Brandenburg was also a finalist for Offensive Lineman of the Year. In addition to football, he competed in track and field, where he was part of two state triple crown championship teams and two conference championship teams. He also earned a Meet of Champions invite.
 
Personal:
John is the son of Greg and Mandy Brandenburg, brother to Crystalynn, Leena, and Martin, plans to pursue a degree in Kinesiology at Southern.
