Covington prepped at William Chrisman High School for coach Matt Perry ... Was also involved in the Bears' basketball, baseball and track and field programs ... Earned varsity letters in football, basketball and baseball ... Competed in track and field in the shot put and discus, earning All-Conference and All-Sectional honors ... Was an Academic All-Conference selection throughout his career.
