Pittsburg, KS and Azusa, CA – The Missouri Southern women's and men's outdoor track and field teams traveled to Pittsburg, Kansas on Thursday to compete in the Pittsburg State University Tune-Up. The Lions turned in a strong showing, recording 21 NCAA qualifying marks and setting 12 new personal bests
Additionally, senior distance standout
Ryan Riddle competed at the Bryan Clay Invitational in Azusa, California, where he shattered the MSSU school record in the men's 5000-meter run. Riddle claimed first place in his heat with an NCAA qualifying time of 13:40.04, surpassing the previous record of 13:48.88 set by Vincent Kiprop at the 2017 NCAA Division II National Championships.

Briar Gillum claimed first and second place, respectively, in the women's discus, with both athletes setting new personal bests. Womack recorded an NCAA qualifying mark of 50.98 meters, while Gillum followed with a qualifying throw of 48.68 meters.

Cedric Pearson sets a new personal best in the men's discus with a 1
st place finish and NCAA Qualifying Mark of 55.67m.

Garrett Strange took 1
st place in the men's javelin with an NCAA qualifying mark of 68.94m. Three other Lions also recorded NCAA qualifying marks:

Clifton Bridgewater finished 5th with a personal best of 60.95m, and
Jackson Wahlgren took 6th with a personal-best mark of 59.97m.

Women's 100m Hurdles
Ashyiria Savage placed 3rd in both the prelims and finals of the women's 100m hurdles. She recorded a personal best and NCAA qualifying time of 13.66 seconds in the prelims, then improved that mark to 13.51 seconds in the finals.
Aryah Moore also impressed, placing 6th in the prelims with a personal best and NCAA qualifying time of 14.34 seconds. She went on to finish 4th in the finals, further improving her time with a new personal best of 14.15 seconds—also an NCAA qualifying mark.

JaDarius Pigg placed 4
th in the prelims and finals of the men's 110m hurdles with an NCAA Qualifying Time of 13.80 seconds. In the finals he clocked an NCAA Qualifying Time of 13.72 seconds.
