Prior to Southern
Wright transferred to Southern from Marion Military Institute in 2024. During his sophomore season in 2023-24, he averaged a double-double with 13.5 points and 10.5 rebounds per game across 29 contests, shooting 56.3% from the field. Wright recorded a double-double in 17 games, including eight consecutive performances. He was named All-ACCC Second Team, finishing first in the Alabama Community College Conference in offensive rebounds per game, second in total rebounds and blocks (1.7), and fifth in field goal percentage. His 4.2 offensive rebounds per game ranked sixth nationally, and he was 11th in the country in total rebounds per game.
