Prior to Southern
Elkamil transferred from Southeast Missouri State University, where he missed the 2022-23 season due to a shoulder injury and played 18 games in 2023-24, averaging 2.1 points and 1.7 rebounds. Of his 11 field goals, nine were three-pointers, and he was perfect from the free throw line, going 7-of-7, finishing the season with 10 assists, two blocks, and two steals. A two-time All-Area First Team selection and Joplin Globe Player of the Year from Pittsburg High School, he averaged a double-double in his senior year with 24.6 points and 12.5 rebounds per game, including a career-high 37 points against Fort Scott. Elkamil began his college career at Tulsa University, redshirting his freshman year.
