Prior to Southern - participated in three sports for the Pirates of Poteau HS...lettered four years at inside linebacker for Coach Forrest Mazey...finished career on gridiron with 525 tackles, 196 during his senior season...the 525 tackles set a new career record for PHS...led all of Oklahoma Secondary Schools Activities Association (OSSAA) during his senior season with the 194 tackles...earned SW Times' Oklahoma new comer of the year during his sophomore season, first team All-Defense his junior campaign, and Oklahoma Defensive Player of the Year during his final year....was named Fort Smith Radio Dream Team Defensive Player of the Year...was named OSSAA Class first team All-State and Defensive Player of the Year during his senior season...Archey also lettered two years in track throwing the shot put and one year in powerlifting at the 220 pound class.
