Prior to Southern - Hanserd comes to Southern after two successful seasons at the College of DuPage in Illinois … Teammate of incoming Lions Travelle Smith and Charles Tigue at DuPage … As a sophomore, he was an All-Region selection where he recorded 23 tackles, one forced fumble, two fumble recoveries and five pass break ups … In his career at College of DuPage, he had a total of one interception, three forced fumbles and eight pass break ups … A native of Rockford, Ill., Hanserd was part of two undefeated state championship teams his junior and senior seasons at Boylan Cathloic … He recorded 23 tackles, one forced fumble and three pass break ups as a senior … Also a three-time varsity letter winner in track and field, he was a sprinter, and also competed in the long and high jump, while his 4x200m relay team was a state qualifier and were named All-Conference.
