Lions Turn Up the Heat at the Mule Relays

Warrensburg, Mo. – The Missouri Southern women's and men's outdoor track and field teams traveled to Warrensburg, Missouri, for the Mule Relays hosted by the University of Central Missouri. The Lions posted 12 new personal records, 10 NCAA Qualifying Marks and 8 first place finishes.
 
Men's 110m Hurdles
Ryan Jackson placed 8th in the prelims of the 110m hurdles with a personal best time of 14.93 seconds. In the finals, he placed 7th with a time of 15.37 seconds.
 
Women's 100m Hurdles
Ashyiria Savage placed 1st in the prelims and finals of the 100m hurdles. In the prelims, she posted a time of 14.52 seconds but improved on her time in the finals with a personal best and NCAA Qualifying Time of 14.17 seconds. Savage's new PR now places her in the top 10 of the MSSU record books. Maggie Kauk placed 11th in the prelims with a time of 15.64 seconds.
 
Men's 100m Dash
Cody Grant placed 9th in the men's 100m dash with a time of 10.84 seconds.
 
Women's 3k Steeplechase
Kayanna Adams placed 2nd in the women's 3000k steeplechase with a time of 11:32.79.
 
Women's 1500
Isabella Frost placed 6th in the women's 1500 run with a personal best time of 4:48.51.
 
Men's 1500
Chase Sorrell placed 3rd in the men's 1500 with a personal best time of 3:51.24, followed closely by Kaden Cole in 5th with a personal best time of 3:51.52. Geordan Patrylak placed 22nd with a time of 4:05.56.
 
Women's 200m Dash
Maggie Kauk takes 29th place in the women's 200m dash with a time of 26.85 seconds.
 
Men's 400m Dash
Sebastian Cooper placed 5th in the men's 400m dash tying his personal best time of 48.47 seconds.
 
Men's 400m Hurdles
Ryan Jackson takes 7th place in the men's 400m hurdles with a time of 55.80 seconds.
 
Women's 400m Hurdles
Kinzley Cantwell takes 6th place in the women's 400m hurdles with a personal best time of 1:07.43.
 
Men's 5000m
Jaden Deaton takes 3rd place with a time of 14:30.96.
 
Women's 5000m
Lilah Genel takes 6th place with a time of 17:32.91, followed by Jayna Gunter in 7th with a time of 17:37.05. Hailey Nelson comes in at 11th with a personal best time of 17:51.96, followed closely by Ava Power in 11th with a personal best time of 17:52.61. Zoe Nelson takes 21st with a time of 18:36.88.
 
Women's Pole Vault
Abby Hobbs takes 1st place in the women's pole vault with an NCAA Qualifying Mark of 3.90m, followed by Emma Hobbs in 3rd with a mark of 3.45m.
 
Men's Triple Jump
Ayden Walton takes 1st place in the men's triple jump with a personal best and NCAA Qualifying Mark of 14.84m.
 
Men's High Jump
Luke Brumit takes 1st place in the men's high jump with a mark of 2.01m.
 
Women's High Jump
Maggie Kauk takes 12th place in the women's long jump with a mark of 1.48m.
 
Men's Long Jump
Caleb Manning takes 5th place in the men's long jump with a mark of 6.95m followed by Peyton McBride in 10th with a mark of 6.55m.

Women's Long Jump
Maggie Kauk takes 14th place in the women's high jump with a mark of 5.26m.
 
Men's Hammer Throw
Cedric Pearson takes 5th place in the men's hammer throw with an NCAA Qualifying Mark of 57.42m, followed by Tyson Williams in 8th with a mark of 56.55m.
 
Women's Hammer Throw
Dailynn VanDeren takes 1st place in the women's hammer throw with a personal best and NCAA Qualifying Mark of 58.59m. With this throw, she now holds the #3 spot in the MSSU record books. Briar Gillum takes 3rd place with an NCAA Qualifying Mark of 55.12m, followed by Aubrey Skinner in 15th with a throw of 45.51m.
 
Men's Shot Put
Cedric Pearson takes 1st place in the men's shot put with a personal best and NCAA Qualifying Mark of 18.60m.
 
Women's Shot Put
Briar Gillum takes 1st place in the women's shot put with a personal best and NCAA Qualifying Mark of 15.35m, followed by Dailynn VanDeren in 3rd with an NCAA Qualifying Mark of 14.38m.
 
Men's Discus
Cedric Pearson takes 2nd place in the men's discus with an NCAA Qualifying Mark of 53.49m, followed by Tyson Williams in 13th with a throw of 46.88m.
 
Women's Discus
Briar Gillum takes 2nd place in the women's discus with a throw of 45.20m.
 
Up next, the Lions will travel to the Pittsburg State University Tune-Up on Saturday, April 19th in Pittsburg, Kansas.
