Joplin, Mo. – The Missouri Southern Women's and Men's Indoor Track & Field teams are gearing up for the 2025 MIAA Indoor Track & Field Championships, set to take place at Hughes Fieldhouse in Maryville, Mo., and hosted by Northwest Missouri State University.
The three-day championship kicks off on Friday, February 28, with the women's pentathlon beginning at 2:00 p.m. inside Hughes Fieldhouse. Day two opens with field events at 1:30 p.m., followed by running events at 2:00 p.m. The final day of competition starts with field events at 12:00 p.m., leading into the running events at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday.
The Missouri Southern men's team will have 19 individuals and two relay teams competing across 13 events, while the women's team will feature 18 individuals and two relay teams competing in 15 events this weekend. Joy Udo-Gabriel holds the #1 spot in DII for the women's 60m dash after breaking the MSSU school record for the fifth time this year last week at the Arkansas Qualifier. In the women's shot put, Dailynn VanDeren ranks 6th in DII, with Briar Gillum close behind at 8th. VanDeren also sits at 9th in the weight throw, while Gillum follows closely at 12th. On the men's side, Cedric Pearson holds the 5th spot in DII for the shot put, while JaDarius Pigg ranks 8th in the 60m hurdles. Caleb Manning also earns a top-10 ranking, currently sitting 9th in the triple jump.
