EMPORIA, Kan. – Briar Gillum and
Keilee Johnson led Missouri Southern track & field at the 2026 Emporia State Collegiate Relays Thursday at Francis G. Welch Stadium.
Gillum took first in the women's discus with a mark of 45.55m while Johnson topped the podium in women's javelin, posting a personal-best throw of 52.16m. Both were NCAA qualifying marks. Johnson now ranks second all-time in MSSU program history for the javelin throw. She also now has the top distance for the event in 2026 in NCAA Division II.
Adrianne Casey (51.30m, PR),
Mary Moore (46.62m, PR)
, Maggie Kauk (45.40m, PR) and
Mackenzie Mayer (43.19m, PR) all added NCAA qualifying marks in the women's javelin, finishing second, fourth, sixth, and ninth, respectively Thursday.
On the men's side,
Garrett Strange and
Manuel Campana went second and third on the podium for javelin. Strange took second with 67.79m and Campana was third with a throw of 67.56m.
Gillum also took second in the women's hammer throw (56.46m) Thursday.
