St. Charles, Mo. -- The Missouri Southern women's track and field team placed fifth overall and picked up four All-MIAA performances in the final day of the 2015 MIAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships hosted by Lindenwood University.
Kindra Emberton picked up two of the All-MIAA honors on the day, while winning an event. She started things off with a win in the 1,500m posting a time of 4:38.90. Emberton then went on to place second in the 800m, earning a provisional time of 2:10.34. Emberton finished the meet with 18 points, good for 8th place in the High Point competition.
Also earning All-MIAA honors for the Lions was Kaitlyn Belisle as the senior placed third in the 5k, finishing in a time of 17:50.14. Also earning All-MIAA honors was sophomore Sierra Gray as she placed third in the 3k steeple with a time of 11:19.37.
In other action, Jenson Maydew earned points for the Lions finishing 8th in the shot put, while Katie Skelton and Alexis Acklin placed 16th and 20th in the event. Brittani Reagan picked up points for the Lions, placing fifth in the triple jump, leaping to a provisional distance of 40-02.75. Shelby Newell and Allie Heckemeyer placed 12th and 13th, while Sierra Barrett was 20th.
Victoria Foley placed eighth in the hammer throw with a distance of 165-07, while Acklin and Allie Webb placed 21st and 22nd. The 4x100m relay team placed 8th, while the 4x400m relay team placed 10th in the event.
In all, the Lions had six All-MIAA performances at the Championships. Those performances are listed below. Southern will be back in action next Friday as they play host to their Last Chance Meet on Friday.
