VanDeren Named MIAA Women’s Indoor Field Athlete of the Week

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Missouri Southern student-athlete Dailynn VanDeren was named the MIAA (Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association) Women's Indoor Field Athlete of the Week, the league announced Tuesday afternoon.
 
VanDeren won both the shot put and weight throw at Washburn's Rust Buster meet on Jan. 16. She registered meet record throws in both events to secure titles. 
 
VanDeren has now placed first in all four competitions she has competed in this 2025-26 indoor season. 
 
She won weight throw with a mark of 19.01 meters (62-4.5) to set a new Rust Buster meet record. VanDeren then capped the day with a victory in the shot put with another meet record mark of 15.84m (51-11.75). Both distances are NCAA Division II provisional standards. 
 
The Bolivar, Missouri, native, ranks second overall in NCAA Division II for shot put and sixth for weight throw.
 
The weekly MIAA honor is VanDeren's first of her collegiate career.

Northwest Missouri's Kennedi Cline was named the MIAA Women's Indoor Track Athlete of the Week. On the men's side, Northwest Missouri's Aziz Mohammed was named the MIAA Indoor Track Athlete of the Week while Washburn's Adam Wooldridge was named the Indoor Field Athlete of the Week.  
 
MSSU indoor track & field next heads to Pitt State's Rumble in the Jungle DII Challenge on Friday. Field events are set for 12:30 p.m., CT followed by track events at 2 p.m. at the Robert W. Plaster Center in Pittsburg, Kansas.
