Finished fifth at the MSSU Lion Invite triple jump event with a leap of 11.00m (36-1.25)... Placed third in triple jump with a jump of 11.53m (37-10) at the 2014 OBU Indoor Invite... Set a career best 11.62m triple jump at the MIAA Championshops... Outdoor - Finished fourth in the PSU "Wendy's" Invite triple jump event with a leap of 11.14m (36-6.75)... 2012-13: Indoor: Finished ninth in the triple jump at the MIAA Championships where she jumped 11.04m (36-02.75)... Took third in the triple jump with a jump of 10.87m (35-08)and fifth in the long jump with a leap of 4.97m (16-03.75) at the UCM Invite... Finished ninth in the long jump at the MSSU Lion Invite with a jump of 5.19m (17-00.50)... Competed in both the triple and long jumps at the Missouri Invitational jumping 5.03m in the triple jump and 10.78m in the triple jump... Finished third in the triple jump jumping 10.81m (35-05.75) and fourth in the long jump at the MSSU Open Invitational jumping 5.12m (16-09.75)... Finished sixth in the long jump at the MSSU Early Bird Open jumping 5.35m (17-06.75) and seventh in the triple jump with a leap of 10.57m (34-08.25)... Took second in the long jump with a jump of 5.22m (17-1.5), while high jumping 1.37m (4-6) at the MSSU Invite ... Took sixth in the triple jump at the Lion Open with a jump of 10.43m (34-02.75)... Outdoor: Took seventh in the triple jump with a jump of 11.02m (36-02) at the Williams/Leptad Invite... Took sixth in the triple jump at 10.75m (35-3.25), while long jumping 5.04m (16-6.5) at the Pitt State Classic ... Long jumped 5.29m (17-4.25), while triple jumping 10.97m (36-00) at the Emporia State Relays .... Took second in the triple jump with a jump of 11.04m (36-2.75) at the PSU Wendy's Invite, while taking seventh in the long jump with a jump of 5.03m (16-06) ...

Prior to Southern: Newell is a graduate of Gravette High School where she ran track for coach Kevin Cole ... A jumper and a sprinter for the Lions, was the 2010 triple jump champion in the 4A class in Arkansas ... she was an All-State selection and holds the school record for the long jump, triple jump and high jump ... She helped her team to a 4A runner up finish in 2010.
