Prior to Southern: Running cross country and track at Cowley College for a pair of years, Roberts helped CC finish fourth in the 4x800 relay at the 2013 NJCAA Indoor National Championships. A 2011 graduate of Wamego High School in Kansas, Roberts was a four-year letterwinner in both cross country and track for head coach Rick Patton. A four-time all-conference and all-region runner for the Red Raiders, Roberts helped Wamego finish third at state in cross country in 2007, '08 and '09. On the track, Roberts was a three-time all-state selection winning the 4x800 relay as a sophomore in 2009. She would also finish third in the 4x400 relay in '09 while finishing second in the 4x800 relay in 2008.

Personal: The daughter of Don Roberts and Susan Kennedy, Kelly Jo plans to major in health and physical education at Southern....born December 9, 1992.
