KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Missouri Southern's Allyssa Mahone was named the MIAA Women's Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week, the league announced Tuesday.
Mahone turned in a dominant performance at the 2026 Miner Invitational, capturing titles in both the shot put and discus while posting NCAA qualifying marks in each event.
The senior recorded a personal-best throw of 52.66m in the discus and 14.79m in the shot put, marking MSSU career bests in both events. Her discus mark ranks third all-time in program history.
On the national stage, Mahone currently ranks second in NCAA Division II in the discus and third in the shot put during the 2026 outdoor season.
