Warrensburg, Mo. -- The Missouri Southern men's track and field team placed fourth overall and Jeff Fraley earned his second-straight MIAA High Point honor as the Lions concluded the 2015 MIAA Indoor Track and Field Championships hosted by Central Missouri.
The Lions had three event winners and six All-MIAA performances overall.
Fraley earned 26 points overall, besting his total of 20.75 from a season ago. He won the 60m dash in a time of 6.75 in the finals, while teammate Erron Holley placed seventh. Fraley then went on to win the 200m, besting his school record he set a day ago and earning a new Multipurpose Building record with a time of 21.51. That time, when converted for a banked track, is an automatic qualifying mark of 21.14 and ranks third nationally. Fraley finished off his afternoon with a third place finish in the 400m dash, running to a provisional time of 48.78.
In other action, Sam Kohrs won the 600 yard in a time of 1:13.37, while Morgan Hold picked up All-MIAA honors and a second-place finish in the pole vault, leaping to a height of 16-01.25. Brady Melugin was fourth in the event.
Bryan Burns was the Lions other All-MIAA performer as he placed third in the weight throw with a provisional distance of 58-07.50. Nicklas Polizzi was tenth, while Tyler Hovey placed 14th.
Andrew Webster was fifth in the mile in a time of 4:20.24, while Colton Wooldridge placed 14th and Ben Southwick was 16th. Webster placed fourth in the 3k in a time of 8:38.34, while Erick Schott placed 13th, Wooldridge was 25th and Adrian Todd placed 26th.
The mile relay team of Anthony Price, Thomas Hawkins, Tavion Jones and Kohrs placed seventh, while Jacob Rowe was ninth in the long jump with a distance of 22-09.25. Darion Boure was 14th, while Desmond Williams placed 16th and Kennan Harrison was 24th.
Pittsburg State won the team title, beating out Central Missouri by a total of 120-108. Nebraska-Kearney placed third with 105 points, while Southern (100) and Emporia State (70) rounded out the top five. Fort Hays placed sixth, while Northwest Missouri, Lindenwood, Lincoln and Southwest Baptist rounded out the team scores.
In total, the Lions had seven All-MIAA performances at the Championships. Those marks are listed below. Southern will now wait until the national list comes out to see who has qualified for the National Championships in Birmingham.
