Lions Claim 6 NCAA Qualifying Marks at John McDonnell Invitational

Fayetteville, Ark – The Missouri Southern women's and men's outdoor track and field team took a small group to the John McDonnell Invitational on the campus on the University of Arkansas on Friday. The Lions claimed six NCAA Qualifying Marks, and Ryan Riddle highlighted the evening by breaking his own MSSU school record in the men's 1500m for the second week in a row. Men's 110m Hurdles
JaDarius Pigg claimed 6th place with an NCAA Qualifying Time of 14.04 seconds, followed by Ryan Jackson in 29th with a time of 15.02 seconds.
 
Women's 100m Hurdles
Ashyiria Savage placed 6th in the women' s100m hurdles with an NCAA Qualifying Time of 13.72 seconds, followed by Aryah Moore in 27th with a time of 14.95 seconds.
 
Men's 100m
Cody Grant placed 29th in the men's 100m dash with a time of 10.80 seconds.
 
Men's 400m Hurdles
JaDarius placed 5th with an NCAA Qualifying Time of 51.70 seconds, followed by Ryan Jackson in 22nd with a time of 55.51 seconds.
 
Men's 1500m
Ryan Riddle placed 2nd in the men's 1500m breaking his own personal MSSU School Record for the second week in a row with an NCAA Qualifying Time of 3:42.66. Riddle currently holds the 3rd best time in DII. Jaden Deaton takes 15th with a personal best time of 3:50.74, followed closely by Kaden Cole in 17th with a time of 3:52.88. Chase Sorrell placed 20th with a time of 3:53.51 and Geordan Patrylak placed 33rd with a time of 4:01.09.
 
Women's Pole Vault
Abby Hobbs placed 12th in the women's pole vault with an NCAA Qualifying Mark of 3.86, followed by Emma Hobbs in 18th with a mark of 3.71m.
 
Men's Long Jump
Caleb Manning placed 9th in the men's long jump with a mark of 6.89m, followed closely by Drew Beachler in 10th with a jump of 6.87m, Peyton McBride in 11th with a jump of 6.80m and Ayden Walton in 14th with a jump of 6.78m.
 
Men's High Jump
Luke Brumit placed 4th in the men's high jump with an NCAA Qualifying Mark of 2.08m.
 
The Lions' throwers are set to compete today, Saturday, April 26th, at the Rock Chalk Classic. Next up, the teams will head to the MIAA Outdoor Conference Championships, taking place Friday, May 2nd through Sunday, May 4th, hosted by Emporia State University in Emporia, Kansas.
