Joplin, Mo. - The Missouri Southern track and field programs are set to participate in the MIAA Indoor Championships beginning Saturday from Pittsburg, Kan. Day one of the meet will begin at 2:00pm for the field and running events inside the Robert W. Plaster Center and on Sunday will begin at 12:00pm for the field and 1:30pm for the running events.
The men this season has 15 individuals and one relay team with an NCAA Qualifying mark this season and after competing in seven meets are ranked sixth in Division II according to the USTFCCA National Rating Index for Week Five.
Peyton Barton in the weight throw and
Ryan Riddle in the 3000m and mile run have set new school records as Barton's mark is still the best in Division II and Riddle has the third and fourth best times in Division II.
Jordan Garr is sixth in the shot put,
Connor Boyd is seventh in the weight throw,
Brendan Jewell is seventh in the high jump, The DMR relay team of Simpson, Watts, McClain and Riddle has the tenth best time,
Taris Jackson is 12th in the triple jump, Jon Watts is 18th in the long jump,
Peyton McBride is 20th in the triple jump,
Cedric Pearson is 22nd in the shot put and
Malachi Pipkin is 27th among Division II ranks.
The women this season has 10 individuals and a relay team with an NCAA Qualifying mark after competing in six meets as a team and are ranked 26th in Division II according to the USTFFCA National Rating Index for Week Five.
Kiara Smith in the 60m hurdles and
Mallory Huber in the weight throw have set new school records as Smith's time is second best and Huber's mark is the 12th best in Division II. Smith is 11th in 200m,
Samariae Bonds is 17th in the weight throw and 18th in the shot put,
Chardae Overstreet is 20th and
LaNea Wallace is 24th in the 400m,
Holly Robinson is 28th in the pole vault and the 4x400m relay team of Ferguson, Wallace, Smith and Overstreet is 28th among Division II ranks.Â
