Women's Track and Field In 2nd After Day Two Of 2019 MIAA Indoor Championships

Maryville, Mo. -- The Missouri Southern women's track and field team is in second place after day two of the 2019 MIAA Indoor Track and Field Championships, hosted by Northwest Missouri State University. 

Southern had nine NCAA Provisional Qualifying marks today at the Championships. Jasmine Deckard (60m and 200m), Morgan Smith (60m hurdles), Samantha Petry, Elena Bisotto, Lauren Sutherland, Jordan Banker and Megan Tramel (pole vault) and Kiersten Leisinger (weight throw) all earned NCAA Provisional Qualifying marks. 

Deckard qualified for the finals of the 60m dash, as well as the 200m and broke her own school record in the 200m. Smith, Elizabeth Adeoye and Claire Luallen qualified for the finals of the 60m hurdles, while Petry earned All-MIAA honors in the pole vault. 

The Lions have 37 points after day two and sit in second place behind Pittsburg State (67 points). Fort Hays State is third, followed by Southwest Baptist, Central Missouri, Lincoln, Nebraska-Kearney, Washburn, Northwest Missouri, Missouri Western, Central Oklahoma and Lindenwood to round out the team scores. 

Complete results are listed below. The Lions will be back in action tomorrow with field events beginning at 11:30 am and track events starting at 1 pm.
