Spring Hill, Kan. - The Missouri Southern Men's Golf team finished day one of the MIAA Championships in seventh place at the Sycamore Ridge Golf Club.

Tripper Jensen led Southern with a five over 77. Junior

Cameron Hamilton shot a 7-over 79 and sophomore
Tristan Haltom finished the opening round with 85.
Washburn leads the team standings with a 299 with Central Missouri and Central Oklahoma tied for second with a 302. Lindenwood, Missouri Western, and Southwest Baptist are tied for fourth with a 309 then the Lions in seventh with a 312. Northeastern State, who is ahead of the Lions in the regional standings, finished the opening day in eighth with a 313 followed by Nebraska-Kearney with a 315. Lincoln and Fort Hays State are tied for tenth with a 324.
Washburn's Carson Roberts and Patrick McCarthy and Kevin Kim of Missouri Western were tied for the individual lead with an even par 72. Washburn's Jared Burns and Northeastern's Tate Williamson are tied for fourth with a one over 73.
The Lions will be paired with Missouri Western for round two and will tee off on the front nine at 8:30 a.m.
