Monkey Island, Okla. -- The Missouri Southern golf team is in a tie for tenth after day one at the 2017 MSSU Fall Invitational today at Shangri-La Country Club.
Freshman
Taylor Haltom is tied for 26th as he shot a round one 74 and a 77 in round two to finish at 151 after 36 holes.
Connor Neil and
Tristan Haltom are tied for 34th with a two-round score of 152. Neil shot a 77 and a 75, while Haltom shot a pair of 76's.
Adam Vining shot an 81 in round one and rebounded for a 74 in round two to finish tied for 54th at 155, while
Tripper Jensen improved seven strokes in round two (82, 75) for a two-round score of 157 and tied for 61st.
Individually,
Logan Greer is tied for 61st at 157 and
Jake Becker is tied for 79th at 163.
Central Oklahoma is in the lead after one day with a team score of 573, three under par. Missouri-St. Louis improved its team score by a total of 30 strokes from round one to two, to shoot an 11-under 277 and finish at 584 in second place. Harding is in third, followed by Minnesota State, Sioux Falls, Southern Arkansas, Southern Nazarene, St. Gregory's Southwest Baptist, Southern, Concordia-St. Paul, Arkansas-Monticello, Augustana, Minot State, Fort Hays State and Hutchinson CC to round out the team standings.
The Lions will finish up the tournament tomorrow morning, teeing off just before 10 am.
