Monkey Island, Okla. - Senior
Taylor Lansford tied for fourth place as the Missouri Southern Men's Golf Team finished in fifth place at the 2nd Annual MSSU Fall Invitational at Shangri-La Golf Club on Monday and Tuesday.
Lansford carded a three round 214 (71-71-72) for a final score of 2-under to finish in a three way tie for fourth place. Junior
Connor Neil finished tied for 7th at even par 216 (73-68-75) while senior
Cameron Hamilton finished in a tie for 13th with a 4-over 220 (73-74-73). Sophomores
Tripper Jensen and
Jake Badovinac carded three round totals of 231 and 237, respectively.
Freshman
Chase Rogers, playing as an individual, finished tied for 26th at 8-over 224 (78-72-74) and sophomore
Adam Vining finished in the top 50 with a three round 236 (80-77-79). Senior
Phillip Roller, sophomore
Daniel Kwon, and freshman
Taylor Edmonds finished with 238, 244, and 258 respectively.
Central Oklahoma used a second round 11-under 277 to jump first round leader Oklahoma Christian and then used a third round 1-over 289 to hold on for the team title. OCU after shooting their own 11-under 277 in the first round they finished the opening day at even par with a 299 second round and finished the final round with a 293 for a final 869 (5-over). Lindenwood finished in third with a three round 870 (289-293-288) followed by Southern Nazarene at 877 (293-291-293) followed by the Lions with a 17-over 881 (298-288-295). Hutchinson CC finished sixth with a two day 888 followed by Minnesota State Mankato at 907 and Southwest Baptist at 908. Rogers State finished ninth with 911 (305-299-307) and Concordia-St. Paul finished 10th with a three round 918 (308-298-312). University of Sioux Falls came in 11th with a 921 and Fort Hays State finished 12th with a 963.
The Lions will be back in action next week as they head to The Jewell Golf Club in Lake City, Minnesota for hte JR Watkins Invitational hosted by Winona State.
