St. Charles, Mo. - The Missouri Southern Men's Golf team finished the opening round of the Lindenwood Invitational tied for seventh at the 7,047 yard par 71 Missouri Bluffs Golf Club.
Senior
Taylor Lansford led the Lions in the opening round with a 3-over 74 and a share of 18th after sinking a pair of birdies on the back nine. Sophomore
Tristan Haltom was one stroke back at 4-over 75 tied for 22nd. Freshman
Chase Rogers played the first 11 holes at even par before a pair of bogeys and double bogeys on the back nine slid him to a 6-over 77. Junior
Connor Neil finished the first round at 8-over 79 while sophomore
Adam Vining was one stroke behind Neil at 9-over 80.
Southern was just a few holes short of finishing the second round before it was suspended due to darkness. Round two will resume Tuesday morning at 8 a.m. and the third and final round will begin shortly after the completion of the second round. Before play was suspended the Lions had moved up one spot into sixth place with Haltom leading the way in the second round at 1-over. Lansford is sitting at 2-over and Neil at 3-over with three holes left to play in the second round.
