Emporia, Kan. -- The Missouri Southern men's and women's track teams competed at the Emporia State Last Chance this weekend with bids to nationals on the line. 

Nicole Green had a great day and made a huge jump up in the standings in the shot put. She finished second in the event with a distance of 47-9 and now sits at No. 10 nationally. Green has the longest throw that isn't an automatic qualifier. 

Kylie Cornman finished fourth in the shot put with a distance of 43-6.50, while Lisa Vengels won the high jump with a height of 5-5. JeAnna Sheppard was second in the 100m hurdles, while Vanessa Langford and Sydney Haase were second and eighth in the pole vault. 

In men's action, Michael Juergens hit a height of 15-3.5 in the pole vault and placed second, while John Lowe was third. Jacob Rowe was second in the triple jump, while Corey Reynolds placed fifth in the high jump and Clark Tanksley was sixth in the long jump. 

Both the men's and women's squads will find out this week whom will qualify for the national meet in Stanislaus, Calif. on May 26-28.
