Vengels/Green Victorious at Arkansas Invite

Fayetteville, Ark. -- Both Lisa Vengels and Nicole Green won their respective events and picked up NCAA provisional marks in the process as the Missouri Southern women's track and field team opened up its indoor season at the University of Arkansas today. 

Vengals picked up a provisional height of 5-7, winning the high jump in a jump off. Green took home the title in the shot put with a provisional of her own in a distance of 44-10.75. Gayla Booth placed eighth in the high jump with a height of 5-3. 

In other action, Kelly McKay was seventh in the 200m and eighth in the 400m, while Alex Close placed fourth in the 600m. Ashley Bunch placed sixth in the mile run, while Lindsey Bragg and Vengels was 14th and 16th, respectively in the long jump. Sydney Haase and Vanessa Lankford placed 7th and 8th in the pole vault with heights of 10-10 each. 

Southern will be back in action next weekend, competing at the University of Nebraska on Friday and Saturday.
