Fayetteville-Ark., -- The Missouri Southern
women's cross country team, with a split of underclassmen and
seniors in the top four team scores, fared well tonight in a dual
with the University of Arkansas.
The Lions featured a roster of four seniors, three freshman and
a sophomore and ran a competitive group of times. Southern comes
into the meet ranked eighth nationally and first regionally, while
the Lady Backs are receiving votes in the Division I national
poll.
Sophomore Marlee Tegankamp placed 10th overall with a time of
15:07.5 over the 4k course. Senior Olga Bulgarova was 11th with a
time of 15:11.1, while Freshman Rachel
Schrader was 12th at a 15:17.1 clip. Senior Ashley Siler
was13th with a time of 15:20.0, while fellow senior Silvia Pineda
placed 15th. Freshman Nicole French was 16th and freshman redshirt
Michelle Stevens and senior Victoria Kline placed 17th and 18th,
respectively.
Southern will be back in action next weekend when the Lions
travel to Central Missouri for the Mule Run.
