Prior to Southern - Bonds comes to Joplin from the University of Texas at Rio Grand Valley (UTRGV) she she was a thrower for two indoor and one outdoor season during her time as a Vaquero... UTRGV: 2021 Outdoor Track & Field (Sophomore): Redshirted the season.
The 2021 indoor and 2020 outdoor seasons were affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. 2020 Indoor Track & Field (Sophomore): Won the WAC Championship in both the weight throw and shot put with marks of 19.07m and 16.14m, respectively, both of which are the second-best in program history, earning All-WAC First Team honors (2/28/29) ... Finished second in the weight throw with a mark of 17.66m, the sixth-best in program history, and third in the shot put with a mark of 14.45m at the Howie Ryan Invitational (2/14) ... Broke the program record in the shot put with a mark of 16.59m and recorded the fourth-best weight throw with a mark of 18.33 at the Houston Invitational (1/31-2/1) ... Recorded the third-best shot put and the weight throw in program history with marks of 15.98m and 18.95m, respectively at the Aggie Invitational (1/25) ... Recorded the 10th and ninth-best shot put, at 15.06m, and weight throw, at 17.48m, in program history respectively at the Ted Nelson Invitational (1/17). 2019 Outdoor Track & Field (Freshman): Shattered program record for shot put with throw of 15.95 meters to finish 18^that the NCAA West Preliminary Round (5/25) … Won WAC Championship in shot put with third-best throw in program history, 15.48 meters to earn All-WAC First Team honors (5/10) … PRed in the hammer throw with third-place toss of 47.21 meters while finishing second in the shot put with throw of 14.89 meters at the Bobcat Classic (4/26-4/27) … Recorded sixth-best shot put in program history with throw of 15.30 meters at UIW Invitational (4/12). 2019 Indoor Track & Field (Freshman): Earned silver in shot put with throw of 14.64 meters, the sixth-best in program history, at the WAC Championships (2/22) … Recorded program-record shot put of 15.31 meters while PRing in the weight throw (13.74 meters) at the Houston Invitational en route to WAC Field Athlete of the Week honors (1/25-1/26) … Earned WAC Field Athlete of the Week honors by posting ninth-best shot put in program history with throw of 14.30 meters at Ted Nelson Invitational (1/11)... At Pflugerville High School she was the 2018 6A State Champion in the shot put and finished third at the State Meet as a junior.
