2013 - Appeared in four games at fullback for the Lions as a sophomore finishing eighth on the team with 127 rushing yards on 26 carries, netting an average of 4.9 yards per carry...Ran for a season-best 64 yards on 12 carries along with a touchdown in Southern's win at home over Lindenwood-Belleville.

2012 - Appearing in all 11 games at fullback, with two starts in the Lions' first two games, Thayer finished sixth on the team in rushing with 179 yards on 43 carries with a touchdown. Had a season-high 43 yards, including a season-high run of 42 yards, on two carries against Southwest Baptist. Ran for 37 yards on 8 carries against Northwest Missouri. Had five carries for 16 yards and a touchdown in Southern's season-opening win at Central Oklahoma giving the Lions' the first touchdown of the Daryl Daye era.

Prior to Southern - Thayer comes to Southern after sitting out a season at Butler CC ... Originally from Neodesha, Kan. Where he played at Neodesha High School and coach John Black ... a 2011 graduate of Neodesha, Thayer rushed for 1,833 yards and 25 touchdowns as a senior in 2010 ... He helped the team to a 7-4 mark.
