Pueblo, Colo. – The Missouri Southern women's and men's outdoor track and field teams traveled 14 student-athletes to Colorado State University Pueblo this week to compete in the 2025 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track and Field National Championships, as both teams finished with top-ten team finishes.
The Lions brought home a total of 12 All-American honors from the national meet, highlighted by standout performances from throwers Dailynn VanDeren, Briar Gillum, and Cedric Pearson—each earning double All-American recognition. In the team standings, the Missouri Southern men placed 10th overall with 21 points, while the women's team finished in a tie for 9th with 27 points.
Day 1 – Thursday, May 22
Women's Hammer Throw
Dailynn VanDeren placed 4th in the women's hammer throw claiming All-American honors with a throw of 58.50m. Briar Gillum placed 13th with a throw of 54.33m.
Men's Long Jump
Caleb Manning placed 19th in the men's long jump with a mark of 7.16m.
Men's 400m Hurdles
JaDarius Pigg placed 12th in the men's 400m hurdles with a time of 52.39 seconds.
Day 2 – Friday, May 23
Women's Hammer Throw
Kirsten Womack led the way in the women's hammer throw, placing 5th with a mark of 50.45m to earn All-American honors. Briar Gillum followed closely in 6th, also claiming All-American status with a personal best throw of 50.05m.
Men's Hammer Throw
Cedric Pearson secured a fifth-place finish in the men's hammer throw, earning All-American honors with a mark of 55.72m. Jamale Williams followed closely in sixth, also garnering All-American recognition with a throw of 55.32m.
Women's 100m Hurdles
Ashyiria Savage placed 14th in the women's 100m hurdles with a time of 13.72 seconds.
Men's 110m Hurdles
JaDarius Pigg made history in the men's 110m hurdles, placing 8th and advancing to the finals with a personal-best time of 13.71 seconds in the prelims—setting a new Missouri Southern school record in the process. On Saturday, he went on to place 5th in the finals, earning All-American honors with a time of 13.81 seconds.
Day 3 – Saturday, May 24
Women's Pole Vault
Abby Hobbs placed 15th in the women's pole vault with a mark of 3.92m.
Women's Javelin
Keilee Johnson soared to a 3rd place finish in the women's javelin, securing All-American honors with a throw of 49.57m. Adrianne Casey followed closely behind, earning All-American recognition herself by placing 7th with a season-best mark of 47.25 m.
Men's Javelin
Garrett Strange earned All-American honors with a 4th finish in the men's javelin, recording a throw of 70.51. Ethan Dias also competed strongly, placing 14th with a mark of 64.46m.
Women's Shot Put
Dailynn VanDeren claimed 3rd place in the women's shot put, earning All-American honors with a personal best throw of 15.85m. Briar Gillum also secured All-American recognition with an 8th finish and a mark of 14.89m. Kirsten Womack placed 14th with a mark of 14.28m.
Men's Shot Put
Cedric Pearson placed 4th in the men's shot put earning All-American honors with a mark of 18.17m. Jamale Williams placed 14th with a mark of 17.09m.
Men's 5000m
Ryan Riddle takes 15th place in the men's 5000m with a time of 15:03.90.
