St. Joseph, Mo. - The Missouri Southern baseball team hit the road for a conference showdown against the Missouri Western State University. The Lions rallied from a 6–2 deficit in the sixth inning, completed the comeback in the seventh to take the lead, and held off Missouri Western for a 9–7 victory.

The Griffons started the scoring in the first inning and took a 1-0 lead.
Southern responded in the second inning as
Jacob Filip was hit-by-pitch and came around to score on a groundout by
Chayton Beck, tying the game at 1-1.
In the third inning, Missouri Western retook the lead with a four-run inning, pushing the score to 5-1.
The Lions narrowed the gap in the fourth inning, with
Nate Mieszkowski scoring on a bases-loaded walk by
Cy Darnell. The Griffons added a run of their own in the bottom half, maintaining their lead at 6-2.
In the sixth inning, Southern traded the lead, scoring five runs.
Nate Mieszkowski started the rally with a double, scoring on a sacrifice fly by
Chayton Beck.
Treghan Parker and
Brayden Luikart each contributed RBI singles, shifting the advantage to 7-6. In the bottom of the inning, Missouri Western evened the score 7-7.
The Lions added to their lead in the seventh inning.
Will Potter delivered a two-RBI single, increasing their advantage to 9-7. The defense held strong, keeping the Griffons scoreless for the remainder of the game to take the 9-7 victory.
Will Potter drove in two runs with two hits.
Chayton Beck contributed with two RBIs and one run scored while also throwing out a base-stealer from the catcher position.
Cy Darnell showed offensively and defensive prowess, recording two hits, one RBI, and four assists.
Treghan Parker secured one hit and one RBI as a pinch hitter. The Lions tallied 14 hits.
Keaton Anderson started for the Lions and pitched 3.0 innings.
Caden Carter followed with a 1.0 inning.
Walker Sweet pitched 1.0 inning, striking out one over four batters faced.
Kyle Moore threw 4.0 innings, striking out three over 14 batters and securing the win to improve his record to 3-1.
