Hays, Kan. – The Missouri Southern baseball team traveled to Fort Hays State University for the second game of their series, where they took an early lead with two home runs in the first inning. The Lions extended their advantage with a four-run rally in the fifth and held on to secure a 12-10 victory.

Southern started the game with two home runs in the first inning by
Drew Townsend and
Brayden Luikart, putting their lead at 2-0.
Fort Hays added two runs in the third inning.
In the fourth inning, the Lions regained their momentum with
Brayden Luikart delivering a crucial single that drove in two runs, bringing the score to 4-2. The Tigers answered to take the lead with five runs, 7-4.
Missouri Southern's offensive surge, highlighted by
Cy Darnell's three-run homer, contributed to a four-run inning, extending their lead to 8-7 in the fifth inning.
Will Potter's bases-loaded walk allowed
Ethan Clark to score in the sixth inning, 9-7.
In the seventh inning,
Brayden Luikart added his second home run of the day with a three-run shot, pushing the Lions to a 12-8 lead.
In the bottom of the ninth, the Tigers worked to take the lead with two runs.
Kyle Moore ended the game with a strikeout, securing the 12-10 victory for the Lions.
Brayden Luikart recorded three hits for six RBIs and had two home runs.
Cy Darnell had one hit for a home run, three RBIs, a stolen base and a walk.
Drew Townsend contributed one hit, one RBI, a home run, and three walks. The Lions tallied 11 hits.
Casey Stalzer pitched 3.0 innings, striking out four batters while facing 16.
Michael Moore followed with 3.0 innings of relief, striking out four while facing 12 batters.
Kyle Moore closed the game with 3.0 innings pitched, striking out three batters and facing 11.
