Indianapolis, Ind. – The Missouri Southern track & field teams are set to make their mark at the 2025 NCAA Division II Indoor Track and Field Championships, with ten individuals competing on the national stage. The championship meet will take place from Thursday, March 13, through Saturday, March 15 at the Fall Creek Pavilion in Indianapolis, Ind.
Leading off the competition for MSSU,
Joy Udo-Gabriel will take the track in the women's 60m dash prelims on Thursday, March 13, at 4:15pm ET. Udo-Gabriel has been rewriting the MSSU record books all season, breaking the program's women's 60m dash record five times. She delivered her fastest performance at the MIAA Indoor Championships, clocking 7.13 seconds, which stands as a new Division II all-time best.
In the throws,
Dailynn VanDeren will compete in the women's weight throw on Friday, March 14, at 12:15pm ET, followed by the shot put on Saturday, March 15, at 12:30pm ET. VanDeren unleashed a personal best throw of 19.19m (62-11.5) in the women's weight throw at the MIAA Indoor Championships. She also set a shot put PR at the Arkansas Qualifier with a mark of 15.23m (49-11.75).
Also competing in both throwing events,
Briar Gillum will take part in the women's weight throw on Friday at 12:15pm ET and the women's shot put on Saturday at 12:30 ET. Gillum hit a personal best throw of 18.86m (61-10.5) in the women's weight throw at the Arkansas Qualifier and recorded a personal best throw of 15.16m (49-9.0) in the women's shot put at the 2025 Coach Alsup Invite.
Kirsten Womack will also represent the Lions in the women's shot put on Saturday at 12:30pm ET, coming off a personal best throw of 14.85m (48-8.75) at the MIAA Indoor Championships.
On Friday, March 14,
Donovyn Fowler will be the first Lion in action on the men's side, competing in the long jump at 12:00pm ET. He set his personal best mark of 7.47m (24-6.25) at the MIAA Indoor Championships.
Competing at 2:00pm ET on Friday is
Luke Brumit in the men's high jump. Brumit set a personal best mark of 2.11m (6-11.0) at the Pittsburg State Invitational earlier this season.
In the 60-meter hurdles prelims,
JaDarius Pigg will take the blocks at 4:30pm ET on Friday. Pigg broke the MSSU indoor record twice this season, with his personal best time of 7.87 seconds coming at the MIAA Indoor Championships.
On Saturday, March 15,
Caleb Manning will take on the triple jump at 12:00pm ET, having set a personal best mark of 15.22m (49-11.25) at the Arkansas Qualifier.
The Lions will also have two competitors in the men's shot put on Saturday at 3:30pm ET.
Cedric Pearson recorded a personal best mark of 18.85m (61-10.25) at the MIAA Indoor Championships, while
Jamale Williams set his personal best mark of 17.50m (57-5.0) at the same meet.
