Edmond, Okla. - The Missouri Southern baseball team traveled to take on the University of Central Oklahoma Bronchos in a conference matchup. The Lions set the tone early with multiple home runs and hits. The Bronchos surged late to take the lead and secured a 14-11 victory.

The Lions opened the game by scoring in the first inning.
Drew Townsend got on base from a double and reached home on a Bronchos error, putting the score up 1-0.
Central Oklahoma would even the score in the second, 1-1
In the third inning, Southern expanded their lead with a three-run burst.
Nate Mieszkowski drove in
Jacob Filip with a single to left field, followed by a two-run home run from
Jake Leeker, making the score 4-1.
The momentum continued into the fourth inning when
Jacob Filip doubled down the left field line, bringing
Drew Townsend home.
The Lions maintained their aggressive play in the sixth inning when
Blake Jones hit a two-run homer, increasing their lead to 7-1. The Bronchos plated four and brought the score to 7-5
In the seventh inning, Southern added two more runs through back-to-back home runs by
Jake Leeker and
Drew Townsend, pushing the score to 9-5.
The Lions added to their advantage with an RBI single from
Treghan Parker and a sacrifice fly by
Nate Mieszkowski, 11-5. The Bronchos responded to retake the lead, 14-11.
Brayden Luikart drilled a ground out and brought home
Drew Townsend, but Central Oklahoma would end the ninth inning with the 14-12 win.
Drew Townsend recorded five hits, including two doubles and a home run, driving in four RBIs.
Jacob Filip contributed three runs, two hits, and an RBI, and was also hit by pitch twice.
Blake Jones drove in two runs with a home run.
Jake Leeker added two home runs and three RBIs, contributing four hits in total. The Lions tallied 17 hits.
Kyle Moore pitched 5.1 innings, striking out five batters.
Laif Hultine threw 1.2 innings, recording one strikeout.
Michael Moore pitched 0.1 innings, and
Casey Stalzer contributed 0.2 innings.
