Southern Ends Day Three at the Branson Showtime Tournament Against Winona State

Branson, Mo. - The Missouri Southern Softball team traveled to Branson, Mo to compete in the Branson Showtime Tournament. On day three the Lions fell to the Winona State University Warriors, 2-1.
 
Game 1: Missouri Southern (12-8) vs. Winona State (13-2)
L, 2-1
In the fourth inning, the Warriors scored two runs and took the 2-0 lead.
 
Bailey Dillon singled and later scored on Maddie Rolfs' RBI single, cutting the deficit to 2-1 in the sixth inning.
 
Winona State held their advantage for a 2-1 win.
 
Maddie Rolfs made an impact as a substitute, recording one hit, one RBI, and a stolen base in her single plate appearance. Bailey Dillon had one hit and scored a run.
 
Kiki Pickens led the pitching staff with six strikeouts over three innings. NaTalia Sewell followed with a solid relief appearance, pitching 2 1/3 scoreless innings and striking out three batters.
 
Avery Tallman pitched a complete game shutout over six innings, allowing only three hits and striking out three batters while facing 23 batters.
