Topeka, Kan. – The Missouri Southern baseball team traveled to take on the Washburn University Ichabods in game two. Missouri Southern jumped out to an early lead with a two-run first inning, and Washburn evened score in the ninth to send the game to extra innings. The Ichabods added runs in the 10
th inning took the 11-8 win.

The Lions opened the game strong, scoring two runs in the first inning.
Will Doherty doubled down the right field line, driving in
Jacob Filip and
Brayden Luikart to give Southern an early 2-0 lead. The Ichabods responded with a run in the bottom of the inning, narrowing the score to 2-1.
In the third inning, Southern extended their lead.
Ethan Clark and
Brayden Luikart reached base, setting the stage for
Will Doherty, who brought in Clark with a fielder's choice.
Nate Mieszkowski followed with a single down the left field line, allowing Luikart to score and pushing the lead to 4-2.
Jacob Filip's single up the middle sparked the fifth inning. With the bases loaded,
Treghan Parker and
Jake Leeker were hit by pitches, each earning an RBI.
Cy Darnell added a sacrifice fly, bringing home
Nate Mieszkowski and extending the Lions' lead to 7-4.
In the ninth inning, a double by
Nate Mieszkowski and an RBI single from
Treghan Parker added another run for the Lions. However, the Ichabods rallied to tie the game in the bottom of the ninth and clinched the win with a three-run homer in the tenth inning, sealing an 11-8 victory over the Lions.
Jacob Filip contributed by going 2-for-2, scoring twice, walking once, and getting hit by a pitch.
Nate Mieszkowski followed with a strong 3-for-4 performance, adding a double, an RBI, a walk, and a hit-by-pitch.
Will Doherty led the offense, going 2-for-6 with a double and three RBIs. The Lions totaled 11 hits.
