Joplin, Mo. - The Missouri Southern baseball team closed their series against the St. Cloud State University Huskies on Sunday, February 9. The Lions came out and scored first, 3-0.
Casey Stalzer held the mound for 5.0 IP with one hit and seven strikeouts for a 7-3 victory.

Casey Stalzer started for the Lions and held the Huskies scoreless for five complete innings.
Southern jumped on the board in the second inning.
Will Doherty scored on a deep triple to right center by
Treghan Parker.
Jake Leeker then drove in Parker with a double to right center.
Cy Darnell finished off the rally, bringing Leeker home with a double down the left field line. The Lions grabbed a 3-0 lead.
In the fourth inning, Southern extended their lead to 6-0.
Drew Townsend singled to right field, driving in
Nate Mieszkowski.
Brayden Luikart, who reached on a fielder's choice, and
Chayton Beck, who walked, both scored on a drilled double to left center by
Ethan Clark.
Kyle Moore came in as a reliever in the sixth inning. St. Cloud found the board, bringing in three runs to cut the lead to 6-3.
In the seventh,
Ethan Clark was hit by a pitch and advanced to scoring position on a wild pitch. He then scored on a
Treghan Parker sacrifice fly to right field, pushing the score to 7-3.
Laif Hultine closed it out in the ninth, and with strong defense from the Lions, the Huskies were retired in four batters, securing a 7-3 victory.
Ethan Clark went 2-for-3 with two hits, two RBIs, and one run scored.
Treghan Parker also went 2-for-3, with two hits, two RBIs and a triple.
Cy Darnell went 2-for-4 with two hits, one double, and one RBI.
Drew Townsend went 2-for-4 with two hits and one RBI. As a team, the Lions recorded 11 hits in the game.
Casey Stalzer earned the win and the start for the Lions, pitching 5.0 innings with seven strikeouts while facing 19 batters.
Kyle Moore followed with 2.0 innings, recording three strikeouts over 13 batters faced.
Laif Hultine closed for Southern, facing four batters and striking out one.
