Columbia, Mo. – The women's and men's indoor track and field teams made the trip to Columbia, MO, today to compete in the Bob Teel Invitational at the University of Missouri. The Lions brought home two first-place finishes:
Caleb Manning claimed victory in the men's triple jump, while
Jenari Lopez took top honors in the women's 3000m race. Southern also recorded six NCAA qualifying marks, including two from
Briar Gillum in the women's weight throw and shot put.
Men's Weight Throw
Tyson Williams earned a 4th-place finish with a mark of 17.44m.
Women's Weight Throw
Briar Gillum placed 3
rd with an NCAA Qualifying Mark of 18.15m followed by
Dailynn VanDeren in 5
th with an NCAA Qualifying Mark of 17.88m.
Women's Shot Put
Briar Gillum secured 2nd place with an NCAA qualifying mark of 14.98m, while
Dailynn VanDeren followed in 4th with a throw of 14.18m.
Men's High Jump
Luke Brumit placed 2
nd in the men's high jump with a mark of 2.05m.
Women's High Jump
Coryn Fair placed 2
nd in the women's high jump with a mark of 1.70m.
Men's Long Jump
Donovyn Fowler placed 3
rd in the men's long jump with a mark of 7.11m, followed by
Caleb Manning in 4
th with a mark of 7.05m.
Women's Long Jump
Gabrielle McPherson secured 5
th-place with a jump of 5.50m, followed by
Maggie Kauk in 11
th with a mark of 5.26m.
Men's Triple Jump
Caleb Manning took 1st place in the men's triple jump with an NCAA qualifying mark of 14.99m, while
Donovyn Fowler finished 4th at 14.46m and
Ayden Walton followed closely in 5th with a mark of 14.34m.
Women's Pole Vault
Abby Hobbs placed 4
th in the women's pole vault with an NCAA Qualifying Mark of 3.75m.
Men's 60m Hurdles
JaDarius Pigg placed 2
nd in the men's 60m hurdles with an NCAA Qualifying time of 8.09s.
Women's 60m Hurdles
Aryah Moore secured 2
nd-place in the women's 60m hurdles with a time of 8.88s, followed by
Maggie Kauk in 7
th with a time of 9.14s.

Cody Grant placed 3
rd in the men's 60m dash with a time of 7.00s, followed by

Jenari Lopez secured a 1

The men's 4x400 relay team of

Sie'ntez Lerma secured 3rd place with a time of 3:19.70, marking the 8th fastest time in MSSU history.
