EMPORIA, Kan. — The Missouri Southern track and field teams continued competition Friday at the NCAA Outdoor Championships at Francis G. Welch Stadium, highlighted by a trio of First Team All-American performances in the men's discus.
Jamale Williams led the Lions in the event with a runner-up finish and a mark of 58.77m (192-9) to earn First Team All-American honors.
Cedric Pearson placed fifth with a throw of 54.75m (179-7), while
Gabe Ford finished eighth at 53.58m (175-9) as all three Lions collected First Team All-American recognition.
On the women's side,
Allyssa Mahone earned First Team All-American honors in the discus with a seventh-place throw of 49.36m (161-11).
Briar Gillum followed closely behind in ninth place at 49.14m (161-3) to secure Second Team All-American honors.
On the track,
Aryah Moore competed in the women's 100m hurdles, placing 19th with a time of 14.10 seconds.
Through two days of competition, the Missouri Southern men sit tied for fifth place with 16 points through seven events scored, while the women have totaled four points through eight events.
