Monkey Island, Okla. - The Missouri Southern men's golf team wrapped up day two at the MSSU Fall Invitational. After competing in two rounds at Shangri-La Golf Course, which plays 7,210 yards and holds a par of 72, the Lions placed 13th with a total score of 600.
Ben Marckmann played constantly through both rounds, shooting 73 (+1) on day one and a 72 (E) on day two. Marckmann's total score of 145 (+1) tied him for 16th individually.
After shooting a 77 (+5) on day one,
Josh Hamnett found his stride in round two and shot a 72 (E) to total his score at 149 (+5). Hamnett would finish tied for 40th individually at the Invitational.
Blake Heimburger finished tied for 48th after shooting a total score of 150 (+6).
Connor Goens finished tied for 75th in his first collegiate golf tournament after shooting a total score of 156 (+12).
Carson Wampler competed in his first tournament as a Lion and shot a total score of 164 (+20) to finish 84th and round out the team scoring for Missouri Southern.
Also competing as individuals at the MSSU Fall Invitational,
Owen Derryberry would finish tied for 48th with a total score of 150 (+6) and
Fielding Campbell would tie for 65th with a score of 154 (+10).

Men's golf will be back in action on September 30-October 1 as they travel to Hot Springs, Arkansas to compete in the Battle for the Belt at Hot Springs Country Club.
