Joplin, Mo. - The Missouri Southern Softball team completed day two at the Raising Cane's Festival on Saturday, February 17. The Lions take advantage early over the Tigers and hold their lead into a 6-3 victory.

Adrianna Young for a three-run homerun over the left field fence to give the Lions a 3-0 lead after two innings. Starting pitcher
Kiki Pickens was up for her second at bat of the game and doubled to left field, driving in
Katie Gray and
Emily Perry who got on base previously to give the Lions a 5-0 lead after three innings. The Tigers finally responded in the fourth and fifth innings with a solo homerun and an RBI single to narrow the Lions lead to 5-2 after five innings. After
Kylee Jacks scored on a throwing error by the Tigers off a
Carsen Tinkler hit, the Tigers could only respond with one more run as the Lions defeated the Tigers for the second time this season, 6-3.
Kiki Pickens (4-1) picked up the win for the Lions and pitched the first 6.0 innings and gave up seven hits and two earned runs while striking out eight batters in the 27 batters that she faced.Â
